Industry Distinction Affirms Increased Demands for Transparency and Business Efficiency in the Government Sector

San Francisco — Granicus, Inc., the premier provider of government solutions for webcasting and legislative management, announced today that it was ranked number 97 on Deloitte’s 2008 Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies in North America. This year’s rankings are based on percentage of fiscal year revenue growth from 2003–2007. Granicus grew 2,143% during this period. Granicus also ranked 4th among San Francisco-based technology companies listed in the North America Technology Fast 500.

“We are thrilled to receive industry recognition for our fast market growth. This accomplishment illustrates our core commitment to remaining focused on the unique needs of government agencies. It also validates the rapidly growing potential of the niche technology market we’ve etched out in the government sector over the last decade,” said Tom Spengler, Granicus Co-founder and CEO. “Our software combines digital streaming media with the business processes of government. This combination helps public agencies meet the fundamental demands for government transparency and business efficiency. Heightening government transparency and accountability are especially important business tenets as public agencies enter a new year and a new political administration – where there’s a strong stance on transparent decision-making overriding institutional opaqueness.”

Granicus technology enables workflow automation and simplifies the integration of audio/video streaming media capability into the public recordkeeping, constituent communications, and professional training processes of government agencies. This product strategy delivers an immediate and a long-term return on investment. “With the economic downturn dramatically impacting the health public agencies, it’s critical that we help governments find ways to accomplish more with less – creating more opportunities for them to make affordable investments in technology that deliver high-impact organizational and societal improvements,” said Spengler.

In addition to ranking on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500, Granicus’s fast revenue growth from 2003 to 2007 resulted in a 12th ranking overall in the Technology Fast 50 for Silicon Valley, which is a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology firms headquartered in the nation’s most-thriving technological marketplace.
