About the position:
The Senior Product Manager will build and lead a strong product management team to manage the overall product life cycle of web solutions at Granicus. Candidates must possess a track record of producing successful Internet products and display a proven ability to design award-winning user experiences. This role owns the day-to-day responsibility of driving for and evangelizing the success of all product lines. This is a highly strategic position in the organization that will shape the future of our company and the public sector with the introduction of innovative technology to promote vital government initiatives including transparency, citizen participation, and legislative efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for growing a team of product managers as our business grows.
- Define, manage, and provide leadership in product roadmap meetings. Consolidate inputs from all groups and communicate product rollout schedules, following roadmap procedures.
- Determine customer needs for new products via customer interaction, market research, and competitive product comparison, delivering detailed market requirements and specifications to Product Development that specify the functionality and design of all enhancements.
- Constantly monitor the competitive landscape and market conditions to identify opportunities, issues, and risks in order to recommend tactical strategy to management.
- Manage the product lifecycle from product definition through product launch, including the development of project plans, schedules, design specifications, and prioritized lists of features and bug fixes.
- Produce designs and build early prototypes of new product enhancements to validate and prioritize new product ideas and opportunities with customers.
- Manage all team-members to ensure that critical milestones are being made and take an analytical approach in calculating time-to-market vs. new feature tradeoff decisions.
- Demonstrate leadership in User Acceptance testing and work closely with Quality Assurance to set a new bar for quality and market adoption.
- Support pricing, business models, and product naming and organization. Promote the business case for the appropriate level of product investment based on market demand, sales forecasts, and future goals.
- Work with the marketing team to develop the go-to-market strategy, helping all to understand product positioning, key benefits, and target customer needs.
- Serve as the internal and external evangelist for all solutions, working with the sales team, support team, and key customers as necessary.
Requirements:
- 5-8 years Senior Product Management experience at a leading edge SaaS or Platform company.
- 5+ years experience of video streaming, data storage, and web-based API's using web services technologies on a SaaS delivery platform.
- Proven record defining and architecting successful Web 2.0 technologies and applications.
- A persuasive manner and excellent people skills; adept at leading through influence.
- Knowledge of and direct experience in designing world-class user experiences.
- A deep understanding of product development from concept through delivery.
- Strong technical background and able to command the respect of high-achieving engineers.
- Strong planning and analysis skills to perform quantitative data analysis and draw conclusions.
- Critical-thinking, organization, planning & analysis skills and excellent presentation skills.
- Positive attitude, incredible work ethic, and able to manage projects to conclusion on time.
- Able to demonstrate clarity of thought at all times and in all communication
